Do I need any previous dance experience?

Not at all. Our beginners classes are designed specifically for complete beginners. We’ll guide you through every step at a comfortable pace, helping you build confidence while enjoying learning in a relaxed and friendly environment.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing is all that’s required.

You don’t need specialist dancewear for your first lesson. Smart casual clothes and comfortable shoes with smooth soles are ideal.

What happens in my first lesson?

Your first lesson is designed to be enjoyable and relaxed.

We’ll introduce you to the basics, explain everything clearly and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. You’ll never be expected to know anything before you start.

I’m nervous about coming. Is that normal?

Absolutely.

Nearly everyone feels slightly nervous before their first lesson. Within minutes you’ll realise everyone else is there for exactly the same reason—to learn something new and enjoy themselves.

Our friendly atmosphere helps new dancers settle in very quickly.

Am I too old to learn?

Definitely not.

We teach adults of all ages and regularly welcome beginners who have never danced before.

It’s never too late to discover Ballroom and Latin dancing.

Is dancing good exercise?

Will I learn at the same pace as everyone else?

Yes.

Our beginners classes are carefully structured so everyone progresses together. We regularly recap previous lessons and make sure nobody gets left behind.

What if I miss a class?

No problem.

Because our classes are Pay As You Go, you simply attend the next lesson. There are no penalties or fees for missing a week.

I’m not a beginner. Do you offer intermediate and advanced Ballroom & Latin dance classes?

Yes. DanceTech offers classes for dancers who already have experience and want to continue developing their Ballroom and Latin dancing. Whether you’ve completed beginner classes, danced elsewhere, or are returning after a break, we have classes to help you progress.

 

What standard do I need to join your intermediate dance classes?

Our intermediate classes are suitable for dancers who already know the basic figures in several Ballroom and Latin dances and are comfortable dancing around the floor. If you’re unsure whether the class is right for you, simply get in touch and we’ll happily advise.

 

Do you offer advanced Ballroom and Latin dance lessons?

Yes. Our advanced classes are designed for experienced social dancers, medallists, competitive dancers and anyone wanting to refine their technique, musicality, styling and performance.
