Enjoy More Than Just Dance Classes at DanceTech
At DanceTech Ballroom Academy, we believe learning to dance is about much more than simply attending a weekly class.
Our Ballroom, Latin & Sequence Social Dance is held on the last Saturday of every month at Bollington Civic Hall, near Macclesfield.
Our regular Ballroom, Latin & Sequence Social Dance Night gives our dancers the opportunity to enjoy and practice the dances they have learnt, spend more time on the dance floor and socialise with other members of the DanceTech community.
It’s a chance to put your dancing into practice in a relaxed environment, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy a great evening of dancing.

Social Dance Events Throughout the Year
In addition to our regular monthly Social Dances, we organise a variety of social dance events and outings throughout the year, giving our dancers even more opportunities to enjoy their dancing away from their regular classes.
Our dancers have enjoyed group visits to the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for public dancing, giving them the opportunity to experience dancing in one of Britain’s most iconic ballrooms.
We’ve also privately hired the Tower Ballroom for a special DanceTech event, giving our dancers the memorable experience of having this magnificent ballroom for our own private function.
Closer to home, we’ve hired the impressive Stockport Town Hall Ballroom, bringing dancers from across the DanceTech classes together for an evening of Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing.
DanceTech has also organised and supported charity social dances and community events, including events in support of Marie Curie and the Bollington Festival.
Alongside these larger events, we organise other social dancing opportunities and special occasions throughout the year.
Enjoy Your Dancing Outside the Classroom
These events are an important part of what we offer at DanceTech.
Learning the steps and developing your technique in class is important, but dancing is ultimately there to be enjoyed.
Our Social Dances, outings and special events give dancers the opportunity to put what they’ve learnt into practice, become more confident dancing socially and enjoy spending time with friends and other members of the DanceTech community.
Whether it’s our regular monthly Social Dance in Bollington, an evening at another local ballroom or a special trip to somewhere as iconic as the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, we aim to provide plenty of opportunities to get onto the dance floor and enjoy your dancing.

We’re continually looking at new social events and dancing opportunities for our dancers, with more events planned throughout 2026 and 2027.
It’s all part of making DanceTech Ballroom Academy about more than just learning to dance – it’s about enjoying your dancing and being part of a friendly and welcoming dance community.
Rumba
A rhythmic dance with Spanish and African elements, originating in Cuba.
Jive
A lively dance popular especially in the 1940s & 50s, performed to swing music or rock and roll.
Quickstep
A Ballroom dance in 4/4 time, Its origins are a combination of foxtrot combined with the Charleston.
Samba
A dance with its origins in Brazil at the beginning of the 20th century. Many steps can be traced back to the Maxixe danced in the 1910s
Waltz
A smooth progressive dance in 3/4 time, characterised by rise & fall
Foxtrot
A smooth, progressive dance characterized by long, continuous flowing movements across the dance floor.
Cha Cha Cha
A dance of Cuban origin it was developed from the danzón by a syncopation of the fourth beat.
Paso Doble
A dance from Spain, developed in France, depicting a bull fight.
Tango
A Ballroom dance in 2/4 time orginating from South America, danced with a sharp staccato action
Adult Improvers Class
Our Adult Improvers Ballroom Class is held on a Tuesday Evening. This class is for the dancer who has mastered the basics and wants to progress further.
We teach Ballroom, Latin American and the popular Modern and Classical Sequence Dances.
