Teenagers Dance Classes in Bollington.

Children’s / Teenagers Dance Class 12+ yrs

This class is aimed at the older Child / Teenager.

 

In this class we further develop technique and ability in the following style of dance

 

  • Street Dance
  • Freestyle
  • Latin American
  • Ballroom

 

helping the pupils to take their dancing to a higher level

 

As with all our classes they are taught in a fun friendly environment. Pupils are given the opportunity if they wish to take a range of Medal Tests and also OFQUAL recognised graded qualifications. These are examined by an independent examiner from the IDTA (International Dance Teachers’ Association). These are not compulsory.

 

Our teachers are FULLY QUALIFIED professionals with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers’ Association) with many years professional dance and teaching experience and hold current CRB/DBS checks. DanceTech is fully insured and holds current music and performing licences. So you can be reassured your child is being taught correctly and safely.

Tango

A Ballroom dance in 2/4 time orginating from South America, danced with a sharp staccato action

Quickstep

A Ballroom dance in 4/4 time, Its origins are a combination of foxtrot combined with the Charleston.

Waltz

A smooth progressive dance in 3/4 time, characterised by rise & fall

Paso Doble

A dance from Spain, developed in France, depicting a bull fight.

Jive

A lively dance popular especially in the 1940s & 50s, performed to swing music or rock and roll.

Samba

A dance with its origins in Brazil at the beginning of the 20th century. Many steps can be traced back to the Maxixe danced in the 1910s

Cha Cha Cha

A dance of Cuban origin it was developed from the danzón by a syncopation of the fourth beat.

Rumba

A rhythmic dance with Spanish and African elements, originating in Cuba.
